Chasing My Jeweled Tail!

Shows and more jewelry shows! I am truly blessed to have great people in my life through the winery and through friends. They all connect me to all the jewelry shows and I want to thank them all.

April is TAX TIME! Oh joy. I just finished my taxes and now it is a new game being a owner of my own business. Quickbooks is a new friend I am getting to know. I am grateful to YouTube! It gives someone like me a clue on the instructions of how to use QB. I love it.

Now back to jewelry. I am creating more jewelry for my shows coming at the end of April and every week in May. Landed a new venure at the Wine Country RV in Paso. My friend Janice suggested I go there to sell my jewelry. Well, I spoke with Megan (who works at Wine Country Rv) and she booked me the month of May! Yeah. Also Clayhouse Tasting room in Paso Robles is participating in ART HOP at the end of May. That is new and I am curious how that will turn out. Art Obispo is a part of it.

Also, I am so lucky to have Sculpterra Winery scheduled for the Spring Bling Show in April. I really wanted to promote all the other jewelry artist in the tasting room and asked our tasting room manager, Kyle, if it was ok. He said yes! He is very supportive of the arts so thank you Kyle.

Wendy Scruby is one of the jewelry artist at Sculpterra and she is featuring her work on April 13 & 14.  I will be there featuring my jewelry on April 27 & 28. Sue Marble and Cynthia Eggman, the other jewelry artist will not be able to participate but their jewelry is always in the tasting room!

I am looking forward in designing jewelry for all the shows coming up.

Sharon, owner of Beads of Sharon, has me signed up to teach a stringing class in a couple of weeks. I will be teaching the class at the end of April. (I squeezed it in!) It's been awhile since I taught and it should be fun.

Well...back to the studio with Petie!

Creating jewelry for the ART WALK at Gather Wine Bar

Getting ready for a jewelry show at Gather Wine Bar in Arroyo Grande. They call that area "The Village". I really love this bar! It is a bit far away from me but if it was closer, I know that my friends and I would be there alot!

The show in Arroyo Grande is called ART WALK. It's great to see this area embrassing the ARTIST of the central coast. It's quaint and lovely downtown with all the lovely shops. It's almost like going back in time.  One time I was parking in the back of the shops and all these chickens and roosters are walking around. I love it.

Working on cleaning up my studio and getting new jewelry out in the world. I am so happy that I just foun a vendor that has the faceted cut crystals and flat agates that I LOVE!

Back to the studio! Come on Petie...time to create....

What an interesting week!!!

Getting ready for a private jewelry show and another show on February 6th at my favorite place, Vintage 1255 in San Luis Obispo. The new owners, Rick and Lisa, are really wonderful people. My friend Bill is now working there. He will bring great energy.

Well, I tore my calf muscle on Monday morning walking Petie. I have never experience such intense pain. There are a lot of people who have deeper battles than what I went through but it gives you a perspective about how we take things for granted. I am blessed with good friends and my health.

So, as I limp to my studio and I have been working on delicate jewelry , bold jewelry, fun out of the box jewelry. It's all so fun to design. I am so looking forward to more shows and pouring some wine at Sculpterra winery soon.

I am being good keeping my leg iced and resting and then hopping.

Back to the studio. Petie is slowly following me as I hobble along!

New Year! Yeah. It's been a great year and I am so looking forward to 2013. Finally got the holidays done and my FLU out of the way!

I am grateful for all the friends that support my jewelry business and said I could do it. Thank you for that. It truely means so much to me.

Even the ones that said I was crazy to start my own business, I thank you too. You made me more determined! I really do believe that no one will get you there except yourself. If you don't believe in it why should others?

Oh yes, thank you to sweet Sharon from "Beads of Sharon" for helping me in 2012. You are truely a wonderful soul and I am so happy you are in my life. Amanda, my friend, my Ambassador of Quan. I love you!

And my wonderful love of my life, John. Never tired, always open to ideas and true with his navigation on life. I love you.

So here I am looking ahead on new adventures with my business. New designs, new shows, and teaching classes and taking classes.

Back to my studio with Petie!

I love days like today. There is a storm waiting to break free and the wind is pushing off the last of the leaves on the near naked trees. The heater is on, Petie is by my side and my cat, Lilah, is in a tight ball asleep on the couch. I love this day.

The holiday season quickly fell into our laps. It was 90 degrees less than a month ago and now there are cold days are here! Cold winter days now greet me and Petie on our morning walks.

I been creating and designing for the winter holiday jewelry shows in December. One at Vintage 1255 in San Luis Obispo and the other at Sculpterra Winery. I am now the offical "Santa Elf"! I am looking forward to creating a necklace that will be someone's Christmas morning gift. I feel lucky to be a part of  their Christmas.

Ok...back into my studio! (It just started to sprinkle & Petie just yawned)

Designs at Winter Exhibition Show & Poem by John Stipicevich

Fall is officially here even though it's 80 degrees today in Santa Margarita. I am getting prepared for the Winter Exhibition Show at Frame Works in San Luis Obispo. The opening reception is Friday night, November 2nd at 6pm! Frame Works picked my three jewelry designs to be in the show!

My boyfriend, John Stipicevich, created this beautiful poem to go with my designs. I love you John, You are a true poet.

Fall
 I over slept this morning
The sun is rising later to avoid the cold mornings
The longer darkness has my body confused
The heater kicked on to fight off the cold as I rise
Cooler night air stokes the fire for fall change
The menagerie of color started in summer change now
Ripe purple grapes picked for wine
Fire red leaves torch the trees
Yellow leaves float to the earth
Golden light bathe the ocean, vineyards and pastures
Leaves raked into piles like haystacks in the field

The coat hangs on the rack by the door
Dew covers the car windows
The car interior needs it heat too
I arrive on time to farm stand
Orange pumpkins fill the field and glisten in the morning sun
Fresh picked apples wait to be juiced
All waiting for the children's harvest giving them a new home
The sun sets earlier
I know Fall is here
